Name: Smartie, Born: 1991, Arrived at MRT: 2001, Gender: Gelding, Height: 11.2hh, Breed: Welsh Section A, Colour: Grey
I am known as ‘Smartie-pants’ which is because I am clever of course! I am the smallest, and oldest, pony at Muirfield Riding Therapy. Everyone agrees that I have a wonderful nature and I have been told I also have petite features which makes me look very cute indeed! Especially my wee pink nose.
Yes I am quite old now, but that doesn’t stop me going fast and jumping. My favourite foods are apples and polos.
Our physiotherapists say:
Smartie is used for children only. Smartie has a variable three-dimensional movement. He can be used for small riders with high or low muscle tone. He can vary the amount of challenge he gives his rider, although these days he prefers going fast. He is a brilliant first pony for children.
Our riders and volunteers say:
“I love riding Smartie, he makes me laugh!” Rafael
“Smartie makes me feel relaxed, but it’s a funny name for a boy pony” Euan
