WELCOME to our 6-event Show Jumping Championships 2019-20

FIRST EVENT OF THE SERIES –

SUNDAY 27 OCTOBER, 09.30 – 15.30

Our long running Winter Series is back for its 13th year, open to ALL AGES, and we have an improved Arena surface, particularly suitable for jumping. Benefit from an all-round professional Show Jumping experience, but in a relaxed, friendly, encouraging atmosphere.

Entry-On-The-Day events. Affordable fees, just £6 per Class. Plus, all proceeds go to support the work of registered charity Muirfield Riding Therapy, a member group of Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
 
Our 6-event Show Jumping Championships is aimed at riders, horses and ponies of ALL AGES, from lead rein wobblies to adults, but especially less experienced,
 
o New to riding?

o Want to introduce your equine, or yourself, to Show jumping?
o Nervous rider, or equine?
o Looking to build up experience over the winter months?
o Don’t have full Showing rider kit to wear?

Presented to the most improved rider of the Series.

EQUINE FLU
⚠️ IMPORTANT health and safety notice regarding Equine Flu: There have been no recent new cases of equine flu in Scotland and we want to help keep it that way. It is important that you follow the guidelines below when visiting our West Fenton yard, in order to protect our ponies;

*PLEASE BRING YOUR PONY PASSPORT SHOWING UP TO DATE FLU VACCINATIONS – SPOT CHECKS WILL BE TAKING PLACE AT ALL EVENTS.
*Please do not touch or pet any ponies in any fields on the yard.
*Please wear clean clothes and boots that have not had contact with other horses.
*Please park only in the designated car parking areas as directed by our marshals.
*Please wash hands before coming to the yard and on leaving – we have onsite toilet facilities at our Indoor Arena.
*If you have your own horses and are aware of any flu symptoms please highlight this to us as a matter of urgency
If you are bring your pet dog,
*Please keep all dogs on the lead at all times.
*Please keep all dogs well away from the ponies.
*Please deposit dog poo bags in the bins provided and under no circumstances leave any bags laying around the yard or Arena.

CLASS SCHEDULE – OCTOBER EVENT
PLEASE NOTE: Ring the Show Secretary on 01620 842 502 for a weather check in the morning, and you can also ring at any point throughout the day to check on the progress of Classes to help you plan  your day and avoid prolonged waiting times.

Class 1.     INTRO TO LEAD REIN: shorter course of jumps not to exceed 30cm; accompanied on foot by parent/sibling/friend

Class 2.     LEAD REIN: fullcourse of jumps not to exceed 30cm; accompanied on foot by parent/sibling/friend

Class 3.     INTRO TO WOBBLIES (off lead rein): shortercourse of jumps not to exceed 30 cm; parent/sibling/friend may accompany on foot.

Class 4.     WOBBLIES (off lead rein): fullcourse of jumps not to exceed 30 cm;  parent/sibling/friend may accompany on foot.

Class 5.     PONY & ‘GROOM’: jumps not to exceed 30cm (on or off lead rein).  One round by rider on pony followed by four jumps on foot by parent/sibling/friend!

Class 6.     INTRO TO FIRST RIDDEN: shorter course of jumps not to exceed 40cm

Class 7.    FIRST RIDDEN: full course of jumps not to exceed 40cm

Class 8.    NURSERY NOVICE:jumps not to exceed 45cm.

Class 9.     ADULT ONLY CLASS: jumps not to exceed 50cm.  This class is strictly restricted to riders of 21years and over – designed to encourage nervous or novice riders or equines or those who haven’t jumped a course for a long time!

Class 9A.    INTERMEDIATE CLASS: jumps not to exceed 50cm.    

Class 10.    ADULT ONLY CLASS: jumps not to exceed 55cm.  This class is strictly restricted to riders of 21years and over – designed to encourage nervous or novice riders or equines or those who haven’t jumped a course for a long time!

Class 10A.  INTERMEDIATE CLASS: jumps not to exceed 55cm.

IF THERE’S SUFFICIENT DEMAND AND TIME ALLOWS, WE’LL RUN A 60CM CLASS.
