EQUINE FLU
⚠️ IMPORTANT health and safety notice regarding Equine Flu: There have been no recent new cases of equine flu in Scotland and we want to help keep it that way. It is important that you follow the guidelines below when visiting our West Fenton yard, in order to protect our ponies;

*PLEASE BRING YOUR PONY PASSPORT SHOWING UP TO DATE FLU VACCINATIONS – SPOT CHECKS WILL BE TAKING PLACE AT ALL EVENTS.
*Please do not touch or pet any ponies in any fields on the yard.
*Please wear clean clothes and boots that have not had contact with other horses with flu symptoms.
*Please park only in the designated car parking areas as directed by our marshals.
*Please wash hands before coming to the yard and on leaving – we have onsite toilet facilities at our Indoor Arena.
*If you are aware of any flu symptoms with your own equines please highlight this to us as a matter of urgency
If you are bring your pet dog,
*Please keep all dogs on the lead at all times.
*Please keep all dogs well away from the ponies.
*Please deposit dog poo bags in the bins provided and under no circumstances leave any bags laying around the yard or Arena.

Class 1.     LEAD REIN: fullcourse of jumps not to exceed 30cm; accompanied on foot by a parent/sibling/friend.  All competitors win a rosette, with special prizes for those wearing fancy dress!    

 

Class 2.     INTRO TO WOBBLIES (off lead rein): shorter course of jumps not to exceed 35 cm; parent/sibling/friend may accompany on foot.  All competitors win a rosette, with special prizes for those wearing fancy dress!

 

Class 3.     WOBBLIES (off lead rein): full course of jumps not to exceed 35 cm; parent/ sibling/ friend may accompany on foot.  All competitors win a rosette with special prizes for those wearing fancy dress!

 

Class 4.     12  JUMPS OF CHRISTMAS: (on or off lead rein) jumps not to exceed 35cm and course including some Handy Pony obstacles. Fun class where all competitors win a rosette, with special prizes for those wearing fancy dress!

 

Class 5.    FIRST RIDDEN: jumps not to exceed 40cm    

 

Class 6.    NURSERY NOVICE:jumps not to exceed 45cm.

 

Class 7.     ADULT ONLY CLASS: jumps not to exceed 50cm.  This class is strictly restricted to riders of 21 years and over – designed to encourage nervous or novice riders or equines or those who haven’t jumped a course for a long time!

Class 10.    ADULT ONLY CLASS: jumps not to exceed 55cm.  This class is strictly restricted to riders of 21years and over – designed to encourage nervous or novice riders or equines or those who haven’t jumped a course for a long time!

Class 10A.  INTERMEDIATE CLASS: jumps not to exceed 55cm.

IF THERE’S SUFFICIENT DEMAND AND TIME ALLOWS, WE’LL RUN A 60CM CLASS.

In aid of Muirfield Riding Therapy – celebrating our 30th Anniversary.

We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen by the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers to be their beneficiary charity this year, with exclusive use of their world class Championship Course and Clubhouse.

We invite you to join us for this very special day of golf;

  • Team four ball with a shotgun start from designated tees
  • Stableford scoring will apply
  • Team and individual prizes will be awarded.  
  • Auction
  • We start the day with champagne and Muirfield cooked breakfast. Lunch is even more of a highlight, and drinks will be served throughout the day.

Our aim is to ensure you and your friends and colleagues enjoy a wonderful outing and are inspired to support Muirfield Riding Therapy.

Annual Carol Concert, Longniddry Parish Church.

A wonderful festive pony-themed event for Muirfield Riding Therapy Riders, families and supporters.

Robin Hill, the minister of Longniddry Parish Church, has kindly invited us all to another family-friendly Christmas Carol Service specially designed for Muirfield Riding Therapy. 

Ample wheelchair space.

Feel free to bring friends. It is always a fun evening, preparing us all for Christmas.

!! CALLING ALL CRAFTERS/MAKERS/ARTISTS – STALLHOLDERS !! – this year we have much more space for stalls in our new venue – want to take a table?  Please get in touch.

Our wonderful volunteers will be hard at work in the coming months creating now legendary, beautifully decorated Christmas Cakes to order, and for sale at our Christmas Coffee Morning.
