Our Summer Show for Horses and Ponies, sponsored by Andrew Black Haulage & Storage, is already one of the largest Horse Shows in the County and, on Sunday 30th July, we hosted a record number of competitors. The 15th annual year of the Show saw 145 riders competing across 49 different classes with 440 class entries, and an age range from 4 to 75. What an incredible day we had, read on to find out who our winners were, our highest ever fundraising total, Show photos and a little video.
The forecasted rain and thunderstorms stayed away from our Show’s site here at West Fenton and all classes were able to run, the fancy dress was a particular highlight with Walt Disney’s Dalmatians and the Scarecrow, Lion, The Tin Man and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, turning up. There were even competitors all the way from Australia!

Show Secretary, Jo Patrick, praised the community support from sponsors and volunteers across the County,
“It would be impossible to run such an event without our team who all give their time free-of-charge; our judges, volunteer stewards and gatekeepers, our Rotary Club of North Berwick car parking marshals on the day, plus an army of people needed to put on an event like this, and the many, many generous local business and individual sponsors who help us fund the event.”
“We’d like to say a special thank you to the Morrison Family for allowing us to run the Show at West Fenton Farm & Livery, and to Farm Managers John and Kerry for their help preparing fields for the event. Together, the event raised just over £9,000, which will help ensure MRT is able to provide its pioneering equine facilitated therapy free-of-charge to ensure it is accessible to all who need it.”
